A lot came out of this month's Heritage Hills Metro District board meeting, and we want to make sure every homeowner has access to the same information. Here is a breakdown of the biggest topics from Jill Clark, Katie Braden, and Faith Walters.

🧱 The Brick Walls

This is the most significant topic coming out of this meeting. The board has formed a committee to explore options ranging from repairs to full replacement of the brick walls throughout our community. Early estimates for full replacement are coming in between $12-$15 million — which is far more than the district currently has in reserve.

The big news from this meeting is that brick wall committee meetings are now open to residents via Zoom in listen-only mode. The next meeting is Thursday, April 16th at 2:00 PM. We are actively tracking down the Zoom link and will post it the moment we have it on our Instagram, Facebook, and website. Sign up for updates here so you don't miss it. This one matters.

🚧 The Willow Creek Trail Project

This is a project that many neighbors may not yet be aware of. The board received one bid for new fencing, a gate, pedestrian lighting, and decorative columns at the trail entrance, coming in at around $167,000. The fencing pricing looked reasonable, but the lighting came in much higher than expected.

Part of the challenge is that the neighborhood has primarily been working with large contractors and large bidding platforms, which may mean less competitive pricing for smaller projects like this one.

The board expressed real interest in connecting with smaller, local contractors. If you or someone you know has relevant expertise, the community wants to hear from you. Please submit your information in the upper right of this website and we will make sure it gets to the right people.

🌸 Entrance Flowers & Common Areas

The board is exploring water-smart alternatives for our entrance flowers and common areas ahead of Denver Water restrictions this season. More details are coming as decisions are being finalized — we will keep you posted.

🏗️ Overlook Park Pavilion

Construction on the Overlook Park Pavilion has been pushed to an August 17th start date to allow full summer enjoyment of the park. Updated pricing is currently being gathered from the preferred contractor, and depending on how that goes, the project may need to go back out to bid. We are watching this one closely and will share updates as they develop.

And remember, all Heritage Hills homeowners are encouraged to attend the monthly Metro District board meetings. They take place the second Friday of every month at 8:15 AM in the clubhouse or you can attend via Zoom. There is an opportunity for public comments at the beginning of the meeting and also again at the end.

Thanks, friends! — Jill, Katie & Faith
